Preventative Maintenance: Protect Your Investment

The Gulf Coast heat, saltwater exposure, and long hours on the water are hard on outboard motors. Regular preventative maintenance is the single best way to avoid costly breakdowns, extend the life of your engine, and protect your manufacturer's warranty.

At Mealey Marine, we offer both 100-hour and 300-hour service intervals following manufacturer specifications for your specific engine.

100-Hour Service includes an engine inspection, gear oil change, fuel filter replacement, spark plug check, cooling system inspection, and a full review of belts, hoses, and connections.

300-Hour Service is our most comprehensive maintenance package. We perform a full diagnostic scan, replace all fluids and filters, inspect and service the lower unit, check the water pump and impeller, test the electrical system, inspect the propeller and shaft, and review the entire engine for wear or potential issues. When we're finished, you'll know exactly where your motor stands, and everything will be working the way it should.

We recommend scheduling preventative maintenance at least once a season, or whenever you reach your engine's service interval, whichever comes first.
